Unlockable Weaponry
There's a few secret weapons that are unlocked by following determined procedures. After unlocking them, buy them from the Merchant as usual. Enjoy the mass murder!

Shee will enter the room and unlock the door for you. now, simply enter the room and claim your new (and free) magnum handgun! For added fun, go to a merchant and buy it there, then do the above (You'll have TWO for the price of ONE!). |

kill or avoid the double chainsaw guy
In the mini game mercenarys the 4th mission the boss is an even bigger chainsaw guy he has a double chainsaw and it's flaming if you get hit once your dead so to avoid him or kill him do the following:
To Kill:when you hear that chainsaw being started up run then look back you'll see the boss so equip a grenade i suggest you use HUNK for this and throw he'll be stunned while he is unleash hell on him with your TMP or if your eager keep throwing grenades HUNK has plenty.
To Avoid:Avoiding him will be much harder so when you start the game do not go to the area with the ladders which is the highest point if you go near there he'll be triggered so never go there if you don't want to fight him.

remember at the begining of the game the crow has grenade? Time to use it. In level 1-3 there will be a big flock (about 7 of the crows!) use a grenade to kill them all. you will get a lot of money and one more item.

adjusting his hat
after you have complete the main game and beat the seperate ways, u've unlocked the 2nd special costumes for leon and ashley and the Chicago Typewriter, load the game using 2nd costume and buy the CT, if only u have 1000000 pesetas, and equip it then try to reload it, leon will adjusting his hat, eventually if u reload for 5 times he will start to throw his hat above and put it back in like Micheal Jacson.
Note: after u beat the main game once and u want to play the seperate ways, i suggest u to save seperately, don't overwrite the main game save files.
Aim faster
Use the D-pad and Analog-stick together to aim faster than normal.
Alternate Title Screen
To get the alternate title screen: Simply omplete the game once
An Easy Way To Beat Hard Mode
When you start a new game on the PS2 version pick outfit #2
Why, you ask? Becouse Ashley has unlimited health and it is harder for a Gannado to carry her off.

Another Ammo Saving Tip
When you are at the water fall or the section where you wake up tied up to Louis (when you have to find two sections of one key to leave) try running through the zombie villagers to a ladder, climb to the top, turn round and start slashing at the villagers as they reach the top (but BEFORE they stand next to you) and they will fall to the bottom. They will get up a couple of times and slimb back up again but it will mean you can kill a huge number of villagers without ever firing a shot.

Armored Ashley
Complete the main game to unlock the quest Separate Ways. Now finish Separate Ways to unlock Leon's Mafia costume & the Ashley's Knight costume, both for the main game. Now in Extras, choose for Ashley to wear the Knight suit, then start a new game. Now this is when the fun begins. At the part where you find Ashley in the Church, move ahead in the game. In parts where enemies try to pick her or she gets attacked, the following will happen:
-Pain Pressure:when enemies are picking Ashley to take her away, the armor's heavy complex will be too much for the enemies - both Ganado & Illuminados - to carry, then they'll fall because of Ashley's weight.
-Invincibility:when enemies attack Ashley head-on, they won't scratch the armor. The armor's so heavy that it can withstand heavy attacks - even when she's grasped by El Gigante the big guy can't even crush her. Too hard for you, Gigante?
-Leon feels the Pain:when you jump down a ledge & Ashley is above, grab her when she jumps. The armor will be so heavy for Leon to carry that he'll kneel in pain. You feel it too, believe me.
-Cover:when you aim at Ashley head-on, she won't crouch in fear, instead the armor's face cover will drop.

Just beat Ada's special mission.. "seperate ways" and you should unlock it...
Avoid damage from traps
To avoid getting hurt by traps such as explosives and bear traps, use your laser sight and shoot at the explosive or the middle of the trap.
Bear trap tip
Instead of wasting any ammo on bear traps, I've found (by being very bored and foolhardy) that you can easily trip them with your knife by bending over and slicing them. I've done this dozens of times on the PS2 version and the Gamecube version and have never once managed to get my hand caught.
Beat Krauser easily
When you are fighting krauser, try not to use much ammo, until you get the second holy piece. This is because after you get the second holy piece, Krauser grows this sheild-like thing out of his arm, and he planted C4 on the building, and you only have a few minutes to beat him. After the cutscene, you should have plenty of ammo, so shoot him in the shins until he goes down, then unload on him. My suggestion is to use the mine thrower and shoot him in the face when you get him down.
Beating Krauser.
Better use the knife, before getting to the second insignigia. Because knife gets Krauser throw a flashgrenade and dissappear pretty fastly. Just dont let him get a grip of your head, because if he does, and you manage not to escape the hold.. Well, you guess, right? In the third insignigia (beating Krauser. Last time for Leon, that is), it should be basic stuff. The knife is VERY useful in the encounters before getting the second insignigia.

Bitores Mendez Boss Battle Easy Win/Glitch
In the boss battle with Bitores Mendez there are two levels bottom floor and top floor. Start off by going straight to the ladder. Climb it and go to the left. There are some boards that are blocking the way of the middle of the place you are fighting. Get behind these boards and look down, now while Mendez is in his first form he will just be walking looking up and walking at you but hes walking towards the wall.
Now if you would like to finish him off quickly just shoot him with the shotgun or rifle. If you want to conserve ammo just use your pistol. Now in Mendezes second form its a bit more tricky but its possible. Make sure that Mendez is on your left of the boards and your in the right corner and if positioned right he will extend his claw and try to hit you but fail and he will continue to do this like a glitch. Same as the other way if you would like to finish him off quickly then shoot shotgun shells or rifle at him. Or to conserve ammo just finish him off with your handgun. Get your reward when your done.
Black Bass recovery in sewer
You can kill the fish and use them as recovery items in the sewer area shortly after the beginning of Chapter 1-2. It is a little after the place where you face the two enemies who throw dynamite at you.
The big ones are really helpful but they make take alot of inventory space. They are also valuable for selling to the merchant.
Bottle caps
After you enter the Castle, and go through the Hall of Water to the Observation Hall. Next to the Merchant, A blue door with golden gun engravements lies in wait. Go through the door and begin the Target Practice game. Select Game Type A to begin a game. During certain portions of the game, other blue doors similar to this can be found. Enter them and finsh the Target practices by fetting 3000 points or higher to get 6 bottle caps. After you get 6, talk to the merchant and end the game. If you collected 6 different caps of the same game type, you will get some pesetas.
Breaking Barrels/Boxes
Use the knife to break barrels and boxes to save bullets.

when the giant is chasing after you and when your with ashely there will be a chained door if you have lots of uzi ammo use ur uzi and bring hell to those chains open the door and start running like hell and shoot the other chains.

Chicago Typewriter
To get the chicago typewriter, complete the game once and then finish minigame assignment Ada.(GameCube)
Finish the game, and beat Assingment Ada to unlock the CT on Separate Ways. Beat Separate Ways to unlock the CT in the main game (PlayStation 2)
Clean up with free fish!
To get totally free fish that you can use for health or sell without 'spending' bullets, when you pass the mining camp part where you get the first Elegant mask, on your last stop before the house where Ada shoots at the village chief, you enter an area with a ladder going up to the top of a well and a ladder descending to an area of knee-deep water. There are a few goodies and pesetas there and fish. (Four regular bass worth 750 pesettas each and one large one worth 2,300!. May not sound like much, but if you use your knife by bending over and circling you get them pretty easily. They tend to dodge and run from laser dots and gunfire so this is easier by far and doesn't waste bullets worth 20 pesettas each for TMP bullets and up for other types.
Control title screen
At the title screen, press the Right Analog-stick to move the background. Press R1 to zoom in or L1 to zoom out.
Crown Jewels
Kill Verdego (the one you need to use the liquid nitrogen tanks on) to receive the "Crown Jewels". which fit into the "Crown" treasure item. This is difficult; try using the Chicago Typewriter or one blast from the free Rocket Launcher you get prior to this fight.

There is supposed to be two Salvador's in the first chapter, in the village. But you can miss the one past the tower all together.
All you have to do is go into the house to get the cut scene for the first Salvador to come out, and when you go up the path, the second one shall be gone.

Double your money with 2 Doctor Salvadors
This is a way to make doctor salvador appear twice in pueblo, effectively giving you twice the rewards if you kill him. This is not recommended for inexperienced players. When you enter the town of pueblo and see the ganados burning the cop, ignore them and run up the path near the tower. Dr Salvador will be standing at the top to block your way. Kill him to get a ruby worth 10,000 pesetas, or you may get 10,000 pesetas in the form of gold bars. Then go to the 2 storey house and watch the cutscenes. Doctor Salvador will appear again outside, as though you never killed him in the first place. Kill him again to get another 10,000 pesetas/ruby.
Recommended tactics for killing him are the shotgun at close range.
Early Freezer Room Regenerator Fight
Finsih the game once and keep the Thermal Scope for the rifle in your inventory. When you get up to the chapter where you have to fight the Regenerators, enter the freezer.
Because you already have the Thermal Scope, the Hanging Renenerator will instantly attack you, with the room still being frozen.

East Saddler win footnote
On the Gamecube version, the rifles are almost the same firepower maxed out. You do have time to nail saddler's big eye after dropping him twice with the semi-auto rifle and infrared scope. On the PS2 version where I tried this first, the bolt action is slower but, when maxed out has a firepower of 30 compared to the power of the semi-auto at 15 or the same rifle maxed out on the GC version that only upgrades to 18. Also, on the PS2 version, I ran to the end of the dock you start on, I dropped him by shooting the first barrel to gain time without knifing him and then went to the end of that platform and across to the other one. At that point, saddler went to the end of that platform near the Steel beam lever and walked in place the rest of the battle. He didn't jump to my side or throw beams. ON the GC version he slung them like crazy. I simply took my time placing my shots in his leg eye joints that lit up for days with the infrared scope then shot him in his big eye the same way when he dropped. Any other particulars I listed in my early note on this may help if you didn't see if first. I'm not sure if his staying in place the whole battle is a glitch or lucky circumstance. I haven't gotten there agian to see if it happens every time.

Easy 15000 PTAS!!!!!!!!!!!
On level 3-2 or 3-3, when you see the free rocket launcher in the glass, grab it and sell it to the merchant.(now, i'm not telling you to automatically sell the launcher, if you are really stuck, like really really really stuck, keep it and it can get you out of a tough spot.
Easy completion in Mercenaries mini-game in Village
Go to the top of the barn (located next to the house where you found the shotgun in the main game). There is also a timer under the ladder, and a chest above, and up the ladder. Go up there and wait for the Los Illuminados to come to you. When they are mostly packed in, shoot the barrel inside and jump down quickly. Get what they dropped. Get back up the ladder and repeat. Note: Do not throw a grenade while there is a flame barrel down there; it will not do twice the damage. Also, be careful of the Chainsaw Hags that appear. They will cut off your head if you get too close. It is best if you are Hunk or Krauser to use the neck break; and the transformation of Krauser's arm, which kills them in one hit. With Ada or Wesker, use their sniper rifles until they are both gone, then jump down, With Leon try grenades, but it is very difficult.
Easy completion of Professional mode
The best way to complete the game in Professional mode is to first complete the Separate Ways mini-game. You will unlock Ashley's knight costume and Leon's gangster costume. Selecting Ashley's knight costume makes Professional mode a lot easier. Ashley cannot be injured or carried away. Use her for bait when needed. At least half the enemies will go directly for her, giving you time to kill them and keep your distance from a crowd. This also works well on El Gigante.
easy cut seen dodging and events
If you know that an event where there is the twitch reflex botton presses (like the one in the Kruoser cut scene)hold down the L1 and Square botton then wait for the command. You only need to press one botton other than the one you are already pressing and you won't get penilized for having one of the other bottons pressed.

Easy damage to Krauser
When fighting Krauser (normal,pro,or easy mode),shoot him with a handgun,it will do as much damage as a magnum plus it'll save ammo.
Easy Gigante kill with Knife and 1 Bullet!
If you are feeling bold and on your first round this is possible almost every time. When I first enter the area with the first El Gigante, I run around him to the cart on the far end with the yellow Herb. I then get in that corner and turn around. When he gets close enough, I start slashing with the knife. If he picks up a big rock, keep slicing. There's a good chance that he either will not hit you but go past you and you will be inside his hollowed out body for a second or his plaga will erupt giving you the climb option instead. Sometimes he may hit you with his foot, but this usually does less than half damage and doesn't happen often. If you decline the climb option and instead target the plaga, one or two good hits from a good pistol or even rifle may be all you need. My 1 bullet claim refers to a butterfly round on max that isn't likely to have on round one that early. If you are good at hitting button prompts, use that climb option and two or three good times also will work.

In the begining go to right. Shoot arm with shot gun till in goes into hole. Then before it comes back out use rifle to snipe the eye, after you shoot the eye salazar is exposed use rifle to snipe him or use 45. Repeat

Easy money
Once you gain access to the tunnel with the merchant beyond Pueblo, return to the farm area and wait for the chickens there to lay eggs. Exit and re-enter to begin the same process over again. After you fill your inventory, you can return to the nearby merchant to sell your eggs. White chicken eggs sell for 300 Pesetas, brown eggs for 600 Pesetas, and golden eggs for 3,000 Pesetas.
Easy Novistador Kills.
Novistadors are without a doubt one of the more annoying enemies in the game, there is an easy way to kill these annoying bugs without wasting ammo.
When you start a second round from Pro difficulty you can get the PRL for free. The PRL has a similar effect to flash grenades except that it does damage to enemies as well. Use the PRL on the novistadors (dont charge it just tap x) and they will die instantly, works at close-mid range.

Easy Saddler Win
When fighting the final boss, Saddler, use a mine thrower. It is cheap(9800 pesetas or so) and it is very powerful. Aim for Saddler's head and fire the mines. When you purchase a mine thrower it comes equipped with five mines, so keep shooting and then when he's down run up to him and slash him. It takes around 6 slash repetitions to get the rocket launcher, so repeat the process 5 times until you run out of mines. When you do, lure him to the red barrel and shoot the barrel. It should bring forth the rocket launcher. If not, use any regular hand grenades you may have to finish him off. I found this to be the easiest method of defeating Saddler.

Easy ski-lift win
For those that have kept the infrared scope for the rifle or are about to get it, it can prove invaluable on some levels. On the ski-lift level, for instance, after the two paths, the ski-lift can be normally very challenging especially since you also have to worry about Ashley being hit. If you have the infrared scope equipped, since it is nighttime, the Ganados show up before you even zoom in against a black background. It is more than simple to pick them off with the rifle without them even getting near your gondola. I prefer to first pick off the ganado on the rooftop on the left, before I even get on the lift, with the red nine. I have not been able to hit the other ganado with anything but the rifle, rocket launcher or mine launcher. With them out of the way, it is as easy as shooting fish in a barrel with the infrared scope. (I don't leave home without it. ;0p )

Easy way to beat Gannados in Bitores Mendez house
Here is a way to kill Gannados outside of Bitores house:
Make sure you triggered the cutscene with Ada saving you from Bitores. The window by the desk will be broken. You can easily snipe the Gannados. (I wouldn't reccomend sniping the chainsaw Gannado first). The chainsaw Gannado won't notice then you can snipe him. He and the Gannado with grey hair will come into house. Use the rifle to kill them. (and yes I mean inside) You will get a ruby from from chainsaw Gannado.
easy way tokill saddler
when you start the final chapter after removing the parisite, buy a rocket launcher from the merchant. then go to kill saddler. when he appears, somehow knock him down and run. next, knock him down again with no video and shoot his eye with the rocket instead of climbing it. this should make ada instantly drop the special rocket so you can kill him quick and easy.

Extra ammunition
Wait until you are low on ammunition before upgrading a gun. The replacement gun will always have a full clip, giving you extra bullets that otherwise may be difficult to find.
Extra scene
When Leon is being choked by Chief Mendez, he will be told that he has the same blood. Leave the room, then return. You will be choked again by Chief Mendez, only this time Ada will come to the rescue.
Fast Salazar kill
First, if you don't have one, buy a rocket launcher from the merchant before entering the room where you fight Salazar. Once in the fight, shoot the eye until his shell opens. Once it's open, shoot him with the rocket. Collect everything throughout the room and move on.

First El Gigante - No ammo wasted
If you saved the white wolf in the beginning of the game, it should help you with your first El Gigante fight. When El Gigante is running after you, do not do anything and he will get bored and will go for the wolf. When he does so, go after him, get the knife out and slash his legs. Afterwards he will come after you again. Repeat this process until you kill him.

Free Ammo
When you upgrade any weapon's capacity at a merchant, he will refill the magazine free of charge. This is very helpful with the magnum, or TMP
Free Broken Butterfly in castle
When you are in the area where you are just about see the intermission sequence with Luis dying, there will be a door that lets you know that you will need another person for it. After you get Ashley back, return to this door. Give Ashley a piggyback and she will open the door. Inside will be a lot of treasure, and the powerful Broken Butterfly. You do not have to buy it from the merchant or sell it for money. Additionally, the strongest Magnum is not the Killer 7. When you tune up and buy the exclusive option of the Broken Butterfly its power will increase to 50.0, far stronger than the Killer 7's 35.0. You can kill a Boss in four shots.

When you have no ammunition left on one or more of your weapons take them to a merchant and sell them to him, you will get money for them then you you just buy them back off him then you will have full ammunition . You will need a bit of money to do this cause you don't full money back off the mercant. you will lose all your upgrades on the weapon you sell.
Get Unlimited Ammo Handcannon
Fully upgrade the Handcannon's firepower, reload, and capacity. The 'exclusive' option then raises the attack power to 99.9 and gives infinite ammo.
Getting the Green Catseye in the church
In Chapter 1-3 in the church, turn right. Go to the small path at the back of the church. You will see a blinking object. Get near it, then press X to check. After that, first rotate seven times using option 3, another five times using option 4, then one more time with option 3. You will hear a sound and can now get the Green Catseye.

Golden egg
At the beginning of the game, if you leave a hen alone in Pueblo they should lay at least one golden egg (which fully restores health when used). Go to the weapon/health screen and select the egg. It should allow you to equip the egg. At the screen, Leon will throw the egg up and down, looking smug. Additionally, the golden egg is the best healing item, as it fully heals you and only takes one space in your case.

green cats eye
when your at the church with the grave yard kill everyone and then go in the grave yard and look for grave stones that are touching eachother(there should be three sets). they will each have a simble on them memerize. then go behind the church and there should be a thing that has simbles. the simbles that you memerized will be on there. then figure out how to highlite them with the glow to open the thing and get the green cats eye.

Hat trick and strike a pose
Leon must be wearing the "mafia" outfit and have the Chicago Typewriter equiped... Hold R1 to take aim and then press square... This will cause Leon to remove his hat.. adjust it.. and then place it back on his head. Continue to do this. On the 4th time Leon will remove the hat, toss it in the air, catch it, and then stike a pose.
Heavy Ashley
When you unlock the knight costume for Ashley, not only will she be too heavy to be hurt and picked up by ganados, but will even give Leon the pains. Whenever you need to catch her after jumping down, Leon will go down on a knee while catching the heavy Ashley, then hold his back in pain.

Helpful tips for Resi 4
Opening locks: Instead of shooting locks and wasting ammo get a knife and cut it. Duh!
Avoid damage from traps: Use your laser sight and shoot at the explosive or the middle of the trap.

Herbs
When you go to your inventory, press Triangle on a Red/Green/Yellow herb, and place it over another herb. Then press X (Or triangle) and the herb that you were holding will mix with the other herb! More faster than using the "Combine" option, and even better so you don't accidentally press "Use" on green herb when you're going to mix it with another herb. Hope this helps. ^^
Hidden Merchant Shop
Once you defeat Del Lago ( Big, huge, creepy alligator) you can use the boat you used to sail in the lake. In the lake you will find a cave that has 2 BLUE torches of fire. Go in it. When you're in the cave you'll park your boat and find the guy who sells you guns. Now you can buy guns. There's also some pickups around here, including some treasure.

Just after the part where the novistadors pick Ashley up and carry her off.
Shoot the large hive above you and it will drop multiple eyes that you can combined with the butterfly lamp to increase it's value.
How to Beat J.J (Huge version of Dr. Salvador) in The Mercenaries
In The Mercenaries (beat the game once I think to get this), in the "water world", there is a tough boss that is J.J (better known as a stronger, bigger, more powerful, and more scary Dr. Salvador. He is truly frightening). There is a few ways to beat him:
WESKER: If you have unlocked Wesker (get 4 stars on waterworld), equip the Killer7. Shoot him several times in the head, or whatever you feel is a weak spot. He should die soon. Or use some of Wesker's grenades, he has a shi* load of 'em.
HUNK: Hunk has about 4 grenades, and a TMP. Try throwing the grenades at the ground, or try to shoot him with the TMP. If he is coming by the flammable barrel, shoot that and he should fall, and continuing throwing grenades at him.
Or if you want to avoid him, but this is hard. He will run, and laugh evilly, and swing his HUGE chainsaw around (which makes him frightening).

Interesting death sequences
Note: Save your game before each encounter when trying to see the following death scenes:
Betrayal: When you are in the cabin surrounded by Ganados, shoot Luis Sera about five to eight times. An intermission sequence will begin.
Chief Mendez: In the barn fight, do not evade his grab in the intermission sequence.
Del Lago (before fighting him): Stand on the dock by the lake where you fight the giant alligator (Del Lago). Fire your shotgun into the water several times. Eventually, Del Lago will come out and eat you.
Del Lago (when fighting him): After getting knocked out of the boat, swim back until you are just in reach of the boat. Del Lago will appear from underneath. Additionally, after killing Del Lago, do not cut the rope.
Giant insects: Let them vomit on you.
"It": "It" has three ways of killing Leon. The first is when he is on the roof. He will grab Leon and snap his neck. Another is when he has the scissors tail. He will grab Leon by the legs and cut him in half. The finwl way happens after the three cages fall and the final fight on the cliff side begins. Shoot him until he goes underground. Allow him to kill you when he pops from under you.
Knife fight: At the end, let him press the knife through the cavity.
Molotov cocktails: In the beginning of the game, go up the ladder into the tower and wait for the villagers to burn you alive.
Prison Boss: Have low life and let him kill you with the first hit of his charge. He should impale you twice.
Regenerators: Both normal and spiked varieties have their own style of killing Leon.
Two Los Gigantes: In the magma floor/pool, activate the switch and stand next to the pool.
Trap door floor: Let Leon fall through the trap door that Salazar actives.
Wolves: When they jump on you, they will ravage your face. Once Leon is killed, look at their teeth.
Killer 7 or Broken Butterfly, Laser Cannon or Handcannon
All of you who want to buy a Killer 7 think again. If you max out the Broken Butterfly and get the Exclusive its attack power will be an astonishing 50. 15 more than the Killer 7 and can kill most enemies in 1 shot and the bosses in 2 or 3. Laser Cannon is awesome and can take down a group of enemies in 1 or 2 shots but the Handcannon can destroy 1 enemy in 1 shot and throw it 5 feet. If you get its exclusive it has 99.9 attack power. Anyway thats what i prefer. try out new weapon combos.
Killing birds
Throw a flash grenade in the middle of a group of birds. All of them will die instantly, leaving lots of gold. This also works with the Granadas when their heads are transformed.

Killing Regenerators
To kill a regenerator easily, grab a shotgun and shoot it in its legs until it falls face down in front of you. Sometimes even when it's down, when you move towards it, the Regenerator will attack you, making you loose a lot of health. But after shaking it off, it will fall face down again. Now equip the knife and simply start slashing at its body until the Plagas start exploding one by one. Eventually, they will all explode making the whole regenerator explode too.

You can kill the merchant at any time in the game. On the normal difficulty setting, he just dies then comes back at the next place, or sometimes when you leave the room and come back in. However, on the professional difficulty setting, once he dies, he remains dead.

Knife Combat Tactics and Tricks
The knife may seem like a useless weapon at first, when there are still too many enemies to content with and your handgun just does'nt fire fast enough! But with enough practise, it can be a deadly and useful ally.
First thing is to determine when to use the knife and when NOT to. Mostly it's common sense. Few things:
DO NOT attempt to knife a chainsaw wielding foe (Dr. Salvador, The Bella Sisters) when they are upright. They will take the strike and remove your head in a spray of blood.
DO NOT knife anyone in the gut. Go for the head and the legs. The former does most damage, while the latter drops Ganados well, sometimes faster than a salvo of precious bullets.
DO NOT attempt to knife the creatures that grow out of decapitated Ganados. The bladed type will simply slash you to hell, and the worm type with suck your head off if you get close enough to use the knife. Stick with bullets here.
As for places to use the blade, think logically. Bascially;
1) If the enemy cannot hurt you
2) If the enemy cannot move
HIT IT WITH THE KNIFE! There's no point wasting the sparse ammo you find on downed Ganados. I know it's an immediate reaction when first aproaching the game to want every Ganado dead asap, but think ammo concious.
Now, onto knife moves. There is strictly only one knife move; the horizontal slash. But it can be used very effectively. A slash to the legs, followed by another to the head can drop a Ganado surprisingly well, either leaving him/her open for a nice kick or you free to tackle his/her compadriots.
Finally, your immediate reaction when knifing an enemy is to tap the X button as fast as you can. This, in fact reduces the speed at which you slash. Instead, HOLD the X button for the fastest and most continuous slash. The rest is up to you!
Krauser
To beat Krauser (the "easiest" so far, for me) in Pro mode, use knife much more than guns, after slashing him, run and prepare for him to come near u, then slash him again and again, then run and prepare again.

Ladders and the Knife!
In the section right after the merchant, there's no need to waste a bullet for the first wave of Ganados. As soon as you open the doors to the area, cross the bridge and run by both shacks to a shooting perch near the exit door. That's right, don't stop to shoot anyone! Dodge the two zombies at the entrance. You actually might want to shoot the bomb guy who's on top of the shack to your right. But focus your attention on the Ganados climbing up the ladder-they're defenseless! Just knife them, they'll fall a couple times and then die. Run down to get items in between waves. And take time to kill the bomb guy above your head. I suggest doing it the first chance you have. Shoot him and drop off your post.

Leon's X-ray vision
After you unlock Leon's special costume, complete Chapter 1-3. In the intermission sequence after the game prompts you to save, Leon will have a strange dream that the egg hatched and is taking over his body. One part shows it taking over his arm, but the secondary costume prevents Leon from looking at his skin. Leon still acts as though he can see it, and the intermission sequence plays through normally after that.

Locksmith Leon
I have seen a tip that lists that if you shoot a door enough that has chains on it with the TMP, you can open it. The two passages route that has 'El Gigante' on the right has a couple such doors. However, I have checked into it and the Handcannon, Broken butterfly and Killer 7 will also do this in only one shot. (I used the butterfly and Killer 7 without doing any upgrades to them. This can be a tim saver for sure. I like, since the first boulder you can drop on him is tricky and doesn't always reveal his parasite, I shoot the boulder down and run around it before he appears. Then, you can shoot the door with one shot while he is dealing with my roadblock and head to the next door, shoot it and proceed. When I am at the last door, I order Ashley to wait and run back to deal with him. At this point, btw, when you defeat him you don't have to navigate in and out of all the huts. He has smashed through them already and all of your goodies, including the 'old key' are there shining for you to take.

Looking at Ashley the wrong way
When Ashley is following you find something somewhat high off of the ground and climb on top. Then tell Ashley to stay put. Go below where you left Ashley standing. When you are underneath and you try to move the right analogue stick up to look at Ashley, she will ask Leon what is he looking at and call him a pervert.
Mercenaries mini-game tips
The main monsters to look out for are the two chainsaw ladies on stage 1. Once you kill them, they keep coming back. On stage 2 and 3 be careful of the guys with the chain guns. On stage 4, there is a super chainsaw man. He is bigger than the normal one and has a twin bladed saw. He is almost impossible to stop. He does not climb ladders. He jumps to where he needs to be. He will run at you, swinging the saw. Do not run past him. Turn and jump down if you can, or climb something quickly. If you really want to get past him, try using Jack Krauser's transformation, and aim right at him. If you miss, you are dead. Additionally, Krauser's transformation will kill anyone in one hit as long as you are close enough. Also Flash Bang, Kick are very good for crowds with Krauser. These two things will make Krauser the easiest to get five stars with.

Mine launcher booby traps
In the dog maze there are a few parts where, if you walk one step too far, a wolf will jump from the far end towards you. If you get to the point where you know to expect it (it is when you pass under the bridge after one of the dog pens) you can shoot a mine dart into the ground in the middle of the path and then start walking forward. When you time it right, the dart will explode while the dog is posing and growling. Also, the first compound after defeating Krauser, after you get past the first Ganado with the gatling gun (I usually just dispatch him with a well-placed rifle round) you will see two barrels on your left and a sandbag emplacement further ahead that may or may not have a crossbow guy in it. After you proceed to the left, there is a ladder and a second level where you will be ambushed by two crossbow dudes, a guy with dynomite and another will jump down with a rocket launcher. If you launch a mine dart into the second story middle before you trigger them, you guessed it, when you proceed they will show up and be killed or at least dropped.

Most Precious Treasure - Salazar Family Crown
When in the castle, get the crown from the dead monk after the cutscence when Salazar says 'Where is the satisfiying sound of one's empalement?', then kill Verdugo (Salazar's Right Hand) & get the treasure it dropped (a rocket works well if you're having trouble). Combine with the crown but don't sell it yet! Carry on until you get to the merchant in a hut where you get the letter from Ada. Just before that you will have picked up another treasure from the lift. Combine all to the crown and sell it. It should be worth 48,000.

One bullet kill
When you are within the castle part of the
game, they get really hard.
But when you get a good firing weapon like
the blacktail and fire at their knee caps,
they fall and simply just run up to them and
give them a major suplex. 85% of the time
it will instant kill them, takes away 70% health if they survive and will just bring out the parasite if it is on them.

one shot, one kill
Dont get rid of the regular handgun from the begining. When you upgrade it all the way, the chance you can kill with one bullet in the head is enhanced by 500%. I noticed this when I went and started a new round and took off everything, but the handgun. then fully upgraded it. One every few enemies, I only needed one shot and the enemy was killed with a water balloon explosion.

Open doors quicker
Tap X(2) when the "Open" action appears to kick open or down some doors instead of nudging them by hand. This will give you an advantage, as any enemies behind the door will be sent flying back.
Open locked doors
Rather than shooting padlocked doors or knifing them just kick them a couple of times. They should just pop right open.

Pearl Pendant
Close to the start of the game there is a pendant with a value that will decrease by 9,000 Pesetas, if dropped in water. To keep it as the Pearl Pendant instead of the Brass Pocketwatch, shoot the block that is holding the well open, then shoot the pendant down to pick it up off the top of the well cover. It will sell for 10,000 Pesetas.

PRL CHEAT
Use the PRL 412 on krauser and saddler and it kills in 1 shot, if ur looking for quick battles. Works on most bosses in the game (except for Gigantes)
Punisher & Upgrade
When you first talk to the merchant in the game, he will tell you to shoot at least 10 medallions. If you do this, he will give you the Punisher, which will shoot straight through one enemy and into another. However, there are a total of 15 blue medallions in two different areas. If you shoot them all, the Punisher will come with a free firepower upgrade. Wait until you get all the medallions before you talk to him though, because you won't be able to go back and get the free upgrade later.

Puzzle tips
Chapter 2-1 puzzle
Before the end of the chapter, there is a puzzle in the church. The puzzle is a simple mix of colors. Three different designs surround the main design. The colors are red, green, and blue. When you enter the church, turn to the left and go down the little hall. Climb the ladder. When you are up there, you will see that the way to the door is barred. You must get to the other side of the church by jumping on and off of the chandelier. On the other side, there is a set of switches. When you activate it, the puzzle starts. The goal is to turn the designs so when combined, they are the same as the middle design. Turn red twice, green three times, and blue once. When combined, it should create the design. Then, go in and grab Ashley.
Chapter 3-4 puzzle
The quickest way to complete the puzzle when playing as Ashley in Chapter 3-4 is as follows. The layout of the puzzle's squares is referred as:

Quick Krauser fight
When fighting Krauser for the last time after he shows his true forum to save ammo and time use your knife.
The knife deals alot of damage to Krauser it will save you ammo and time shoot him in the legs when he falls run up to him and slash him and if you feel a bit gutsy run up and slash him with out shooting him at all.

If you mix a Green, Red, and Yellow Herb, you can sell it for a lot of money, or use it to restore health and increase the maximum health. Use it when you are low on health so that you do not waste the health recovery from it.

Quicker Way to Beat Salvador in The Main-Game
Instead of wasting time and ammo trying to kill this maniac I advise you to get out your shotgun and nail him in the head or anywhere that would make him fall. As soon as he falls quickly go up to his body and start slashing him with your knife! He should already be dead after a couple of slashing and the knife is actually a really strong weapon as it's also the only good weapon to use against Krauser as well. It kills him pretty quickly as well.

Salazar Boss Strategy
Salazar: Before you go into battle. Visit the merchant. Buy a TMP, mine thrower and RL (Rocket Launcher). Go into battle and go all the way to the right. Equip the TMP and shoot that tentacle until it goes away. Next, equip the mine thrower and if you see that central head, shoot the eye with the dart. Then wait for it to blow up. Next you will see a clip showing Salazar coming out of that shell. So equip the RL (Rocket Launcher) then aim at Salazar and shoot. (Tip: wait for the body to go down a little then shoot.) Then a little clip will show him dying. If it doesn't show then you missed. So press select (PS2) or start (GC). Then the first option then retry from check point or just die to restart.

Save ammunition
If you are a bit low on ammunition shoot enemys in the legs they should fall to there knees run up to them and prees x this will make Leon kick then in the head. If it doesn't kill them keeps shooting them in the head while they are on the floor once or twice it should kill them and you should have only used 4 or 5 bullets inseted of 12 or more bullets it would usualy take. (This doesn't always work)

Saving ammo
Use the knife technique, press square and up and move back, when enemy atacks attack with knife and keep slashing. Also use the knife for barrels, and to break locks, you will have to get rid of stuff if you do this.

if you are running out of ammo and then dieing because of it here is what you can do to prevent that. shoot them in the legs while they are running and they should fall when they do run up to them and knife them untill they die. (this dosen't work in large crowds, it will work up to 4 people for me).

Sell the "Special" Rocket Launcher
Get the infinite rocket launcher. Ada will throw you the "Special" Rocket Launcher in your battle with Saddler. Grab it but do not use it. Use the infinite rocket launcher to kill Saddler and when you start a new game, it will be in your inventory to sell.
Shooting Range
If you go into the shooting range and aim carefully, a number of interesting things will happen:
1. In game types A and B, shoot the trees to the far left, birds will fly into the shooting gallery.
2. Also in game types A and B, shoot the wasp nest/bee hive on the far right, wasps... or bees... whatever... little buzzing insects will fly into the shooting gallery.
3. Still in game types A and B, shooting the chimney on the house in the center will cause the shooting gallery to be filled with smoke.
4. In game C, shoot a star and a meteor will come crashing from the sky and demolish all targets in or towards the center. (Try not to demolish Ashley or you'll lose 2000 points... not that the intention of my tips is for points... just fun.)
5. In game c be shooting the moon you will create a more nacturnal lighting( Lights turn blue in practice area) And by shooting the center peak of the castle you will create a cool fireworks display in the backround, setting the mood for more villager killing!!
6. Also in game C when you shoot the grassy peak beneath the middle chunk of the castle you will achieve Salazar's laughter.

Shooting Range Meteor
In the shooting ranges, there is a back wall which looks like the castle and the surrounding area. If you shoot the stars on the back wall, a meteor will come down and destroy all the targets that are currently up in the range.

Special Costumes
After beating the game the first time, when starting a new game or playing a Round Two game, a new option appears that allows for Leon and Ashley to wear special costumes. Leon wears an R.P.D. uniform, Ashley wears pop sensation clothes, and Ada wears her black outfit from her mini-game.
Spinkick the Bugs!
The invisible bugs in the sewer system can be an arse. They sneak up on you, and by the time you whip out the knife, your on yer back. Here's a trick.
When you hear the thing padding around, get into a corner. Aim your gun around till you see it. when it gets close, 'KICK' will appear at the bottom of the screen. Hit X quickly, and instead of firing a shot, Leon will land a perfect spin kick on the scaly bastard. This knocks the bug on its back for a good while, giving you time to take aim and blast it to hell. Or, if your feeling brave and hard, dash up and slash it with the knife. Your call.
also, a flash grenade works brilliantly, giving you enough time to bolt up and slash madly until it dies.
Super easy Saddler win
I have found a way to take saddler out without having to use the boss rocket launcher at all! (It is worth 30,000 pesetas after all) Besides the barrels and levers on the docks, if you shoot him from any real distance with the mine launcher upgraded completely to have 'homing darts' each dart will get him in his midsection and drop him. (For quick aiming, don't use scope and aim in that general direction. The farther from him you are, the better your dart can home in. When he drops, instead of needing to be near enough to knife his big eye, switch to the rifle with the infra-red scope and his big eye is easy to spot and hit as it lights up as well as the little plagas on regenerators. I killed him completely without anything else but those two. Also, I conserved mine darts by shooting the leg eyes long range the same way. (They light up with that scope as well.) When I ran out of eyes on his legs to shoot, I switched to the mine launcher to drop him and only used 9 darts and 9 rifle bullets.

The Broken Butterfly
Ok so you've all heard about the Broken Buttefly right? Heres some little tips to get the most out of it.
1. DON'T BUY IT FROM THE MERCHANT!!!! I know how tempting it is at the start of Chapter 3.1 but if you look around and investigate the whole castle you'll find the free one. It's in a room where you have to use ashley to get in (piggyback).
2. Get the Exclusive. It is very costly, but once you get the exclusive, it kicks all ass.....literally. PERIOD.
3. Save Ammo For Boss-Type Characters.
While Playing through the game, you won't find hordes of ammo for the Broken Butterfly, so save the ammo for bosses, like Daddy Chainsaw, The Bella Sisters and Krauser, Saddler,Salazar etc.. Why? Because, a Broken Butterfly with exclusive can KILL Chief Mendez in just 2 shots. I Kid You Not. 1st shot removes his legs and theres the little cutscene. 2nd shot kills him outright. For you Non believers out there: Go and Try it yourself

The Knife
The knife is a wonderful thing isn't it? trust me this will work if you are fairly good at the game. when you are in a fair range of a zombie or monk, shoot them on to the ground and start slashing the people to heck. this is a good way to save ammo and about as powerful as an unupgraded hadgun. i kill people in normal mode after one shot of the handgun with about 5 slashes. ( Note please DO NOT! hesitate to slash them or you will die! )

The three marks
The first thing I want to tall you is that you are sooooooo close to gr Ashley. second if you are wondering, there is a path to the right of the building, and there are two paths. Take the one on the left and fight the zombies.You will see a object there, and will have 7 circles with difirent markings on it. If you want the green Cat's eye (which is good to sell to the merchant for some money), you need to get the markings that look like a: Z, M, and the V. I have tryed this, and it works. (I am 13, and my brother is 17, and I got it before him.)(HA, HA, HA)

Throw eggs at Ashley
Collect some eggs, equip them, and throw them at Ashley. They will not harm her and it is funny. Aim from a distance to get used to them. They are lighter than a grenade and fly far when thrown. Note: She will duck when in close proximity.

Beerstein and it's Catseyes:
To get the Beerstein:
In the beginning of the game, when you enter the 2nd village when the Blue Medallions start showing up, kill off the offending Ganados, then, enter the barn with a ladder in it then go up the ladder to the second floor of the second barn. Jump out the window to the left, and jump down the first drop-off in front of you. Turn to the right and break the wooden box.
1st Catseye - Red:
Shoot the bird's nest in the tree to the right of the house with
the shuffling sound.
2nd Catseye - Green:
Solve the puzzle in the back of the church. The combination to the puzzle is 3-3-3-4-4-4-3.
3rd Catseye - Yellow: After taking the lifts, (Even if you're not that far yet, you'll know what I'm talking about when you get there) There are stairs going down, and there is a straight path going into a cave, don't take the stairs, instead take the cave path, you'll have to fight roughly 3-5 Ganados, then at the end of the cave there will be a Treasure Cheat containing the last Catseye to the Beerstein.
*Attach them all to the Beerstein, then sell to the merchant for a hefty sum of 20,000 ptas.

Unlock Infinite Rocket Launcher And Mathilda Handgun
Beat the game to unlock the Mathilda handgun and the Infinite Rocket Launcher. The items will be unlocked for purchase at any merchant if you load up a "Round 2" game save. The weapons come with a hefty price, too.
Unlock the Handcannon
In the course of the mercenaries game, you can unlock extra characters by completing the maps with a high score, in addition to secret characters, you can also unlock weapons. The total cost of the Handcannon's upgrades is 790,000 pesetas.
To unlock the Handcannon get a five-star rank on all mercenaries.
Unlock the P.R.L. 412 Laser Cannon
Beat the game on Profesional Level to unlock this gun. It his really hard when you charge it up. You can take out some of the tougher enemies, and it has infinate ammo
Unlocking the Punisher Pistol
When the guy who runs around and sells you upgrades for weapons, he has a secret "quest" for you. You have to search 2 areas of the game for the blue medallions & shoot them (there are 15 altogether). Doing this gets you the Punisher Pistol.
Valuable jewels
When around the village stage, some trees will have bird nests. Shoot them down to get valuable jewels to sell to the merchant.

Weapons from above
In various indoor places you will find red fire lamps hanging from the ceiling. Back away from the lamp to avoid taking damage. Shoot at the lamp when enemies are standing below it. It packs quite the punch and occasionaly a jewel will come crashing down as well. It really does make the games's world feel much larger when you can use the environment to your advantage. Have fun killing those poor zombie like civilians and monks!
What sniper is for you?? Firepower or Speed??
What kind of sniper are you? I'll help you find out.
Rifle has a firepower of 30. Firing speed 2.73sec
this means you are a good sniper, like power, and dont miss.
Rifle(semie-auto)firepower of 15.Firing speed 0.80sec this means your gonna shot fast no dought, but in the castle in normal takes 2 bullets to kill a enemy sometimes that speed isnt enough. So you must miss alot and are not use to being slow. Hint: use the bolt-action rifle.
Where's Waldo Novistador tip
For those who have a difficult time finding the Novistadors (The invisible giant locusts in the sewers) I have an easy tip on finding them. Since they have some way of being invisible, for the most part, the laser dot on the weapons should pass through them as does normal light. It doesn't. IF you scan the room and ceilings and corners by aiming a weapon with a laser sight, you can see the dot appear when you are aiming at one of them. Illogical but very handy. Oh, and for those of you that backtrack for the Broken butterfly and goodies that you passed on the way to the dog maze, be advised you may want to have ashley wait and scan the room with the shelves that has a lock on the far door for them as well. They sometimes will be there to ambush you.

when you are fighting krouser and have a level 3 damage mine thower use the mine thower like the ditt man glitch b4 you fight him and he uses a bow with explosives instead od granades

Pervert Glitch 2
Okay after rescuing ashley in the church,make it to the farm. Eleminate all the gannados and go to the jump before you piggyback ashley here is what you need to do.
1.)Kick down the ladder
2.)Tell her to wait
3.)Jump down
4.)Pick it up and when the camera points up she calls him a pervert without you pointing a gun at her skirt.

Ada's Shotgun in Main Game
This is a special item that you can get WITHOUT any cheat, NOTE : only do-able in Wii version without crash.
What you need : Striker, other weapon, some space that enough for a rocket launcher.
Go to lake merchant after Del Lago battle.
Push the box, destroy the barrels, climb up the ladder, 180 degree turn, activate Ditman Glitch, jump down, keep running straight ahead until you reach water level.
Search and go to your boat (don't get on), run to the cave entrance, turn around, here you should see floating items, grab them.
Check your inventory. You will see Ada's shotgun there, equip it. See, Leon is holding a Normal Shotgun.

Del Lago secret death
In the game before you face Del Lago (a huge alligator sort of monster)get near the water up close. Shoot the water with a weapon five times. (shotgun preferebaly) and the Del Lago will come out and eat you making an awsome cutscene.

Square moon glitch
I could go into software lingo as to why this happened but, let's just suffice to say the programmers assumed most would sell their infra-red scope after the first round for 10,000 pesetas and/or they would not have it before the island scenes. After defeating Salazar in the tower, on your way to the boat as you come out on the top of the tower, sometimes there will be a full moon in the sky ahead. If you peer at it with a scope equipped or an item with built-in scope it looks pretty kewl. IF, however, you equip the infra-red scope on the rifle and look at it, it is SQUARE! Plain as day, hanging there in the night sky is a square moon. You also can view this same phenomenon if the moon is out on your way to fighting Krauser. Enjoy.

Unsuit Ashley scene
If you are playing on PS2 and have Ashley in the suit of armor, you know that nothing will harm her. When she is trapped in the bands below you, in the castle after seeing Luis, instead of shooting the bands I like to use a mine dart. (No, Aura, it isn't homing yet and doesn't need to be) When the dart explodes, not only does it free her but, after it explodes she jumps forward without the armor on anymore. "Wow! Talk about a near death experience." After that, she is back in her suit and free to move about the cabin. For a few it is like you disintegrated her armor along with the bands with the dart.

Ditman glitch by ditman 1887 (NOT ME)
This cheat requires the striker and another gun. Equip the striker and then aim. Right before lazer comes up (or right after clicking aim button), pause and swap for the other gun (any) and Leon should start moving so fast that some of the game can't keep up with him.
Going to several parts with this glitch allow movement outside the walls E.G. in Dos Gigantes pit by riding the zip line thing to the switch that drops the vat, you might move through the wall allowing easy hits and several oddities.
WARNING: if used in Lake Merchant by going down the ladder and floating in air, pushing against nearest wall to lower and then going to floating items, if you pick up the "shotgun" shaped like a box, the game will freeze.

Go to the cave right below the lift and you will find a tall ladder. First, climb up the ladder and ashley will follow then jump down. After that, equip your rifle and aim up.
